From new restaurants to retailers, to everyday living, downtown Nashville is experiencing a growth spurt.
There is a major development underway in Nashville's So-Bro neighborhood, including a 32-story tower with over 300 apartment units, 500 parking spaces and 20,000 square foot of restaurant space.
The new tower is planned to be located at the southwest corner of 2nd Avenue North and Demonbreun Street.
"It's hard not to take pride in what we've got going on in downtown Nashville right now. It's too exciting, there is too much going on and there is too much yet to come," commercial real estate broker Brian Taylor said.
In addition to the new development in the So-Bro neighborhood, downtown's residential population is expected to grow another 12% by the end of 2013.
"There is an excitement downtown. To be able to live here, and then walk home, a block away and be able to afford it, and still enjoy eating out, you can't do that in too many big cities," realtor Valerie Clark told Nashville's News 2.
Construction on the So-Bro development is planned to begin in the fall.
