HOOVER, Ala. (WATE) - Butch Jones has spent seven months trying to make believers out of Tennessee fans, but that message isn't reverberating with the media.

The Vols are picked to finish fifth in the SEC East this season, behind Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and Vanderbilt.

"What people think of us, to be real with you, it really doesn't matter to me. All that matters to me is the camaraderie between the coaches and the players. That's all we really need at the end of the day to win games," said offensive lineman Antonio Richardson.

"It hurts your pride. You know it hurts you and I hurt for the fans of Knoxville. I think they're the greatest fans in America. I am just trying to go out here and work everyday to give back to them and get Tennessee back to where it needs to be," said offensive lineman Ja'Wuan James.

"I have been saying all along that we just need to focus on the process, we can't worry about the end result right now," head coach Butch Jones. "We just have to be a better football team. But you can't get caught up in all the talk and all the clutter."

The Vols were picked to finish fifth in the SEC last year and went the wrong direction, ending the season in sixth place.

As a first step, Jones would like to reverse that trend.
