SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - A Sevier County woman was found guilty Thursday of the charges against her after she was jailed for trying to set her child on fire.

Investigators say Becky Eury strapped her five-week-old baby into a car seat on Mothers Day weekend of 2010, then tried to set the seat on fire.

The child was unharmed and is now three years old.

Eury was found guilty Thursday of attempted aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect, and burning personal property.

Her failure to cooperate in two separate plea deals is what sent the case to trial.

Eury will be sentenced on September 5.

Investigators say postpartum depression may have played a role in her strange behavior.
