KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two Memphis men were in a Knoxville courtroom Wednesday to be arraigned on murder charges.

Lavonte Dominique Simmons, 22, and Shawn David O'Neill, 24, are charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of a young mother last June.

Uniqua Brown, 21, was gunned down in the driveway of her home in the 1400 block of Nolan Avenue.

Brown had just given birth 10 days earlier to twin girls, and was also the mother of two other children.

Police say O'Neill and Simmons were seen running from their car and into a nearby home shortly after the shooting.

Both men were being held on a $1,000,000 bond, but during Wednesday's hearing Simmons asked for a reduction in bond, down to $500,000.

The judge granted the reduced bond because of Simmons has health issues, but ordered him to stay under house arrest and supervision.
