CAMPBELL COUNTY (WATE) - Preparations will begin Monday in the reopening of the Campbell County Animal Shelter.

It is unclear, however, when the shelter will reopen to the public.

According to the Campbell County Mayor's Office, former animal shelter director Betty Crumley resigned from her position some time ago.

The shelter was shut down in April amid claims that Crumley was not giving enough sedative or euthanasia when putting animals down.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate.
