Hawkins Co. deputies investigate possible homicide

GOSHEN VALLEY (WATE) – Hawkins County deputies and the TBI are investigating the death of a woman as a homicide.

Someone called deputies Monday afternoon to a house on Mountain View School Road.

Originally, the caller told dispatchers the woman might have died of cardiac arrest or another natural cause. But while deputies were driving to the house, they received another call that made them more suspicious of the death.

When deputies pulled up to the house, they talked to Ricky Simpson. He told deputies he found Regilla Dye, 58, dead inside of the house.

Medics confirmed Dye was dead.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is helping Hawkins County deputies with the investigation.
