SEYMOUR (WATE) - A Seymour man died Tuesday afternoon from injuries he suffered in a crash in July, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report.

On July 18, troopers say Clay Cardwell, 59, was driving his Ford Explorer westbound on the 900 block of Cedar Springs Valley Road.

He then ran off the road, hit an embankment, went across a small creek and hit a tree head on.

THP says Cardwell was cited for driving under the influence.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
