Heavy rains flood Johnson City streets

JOHNSON CITY (AP) - Streets in downtown Johnson City are flooded after thunderstorms passed through the area.

The Johnson City Press reports the heavy rain and strong winds on Saturday caused a disturbance at the 17th annual Umoja Festival where some vendors had to drop their tents and secure their items.

The newspaper reports police blocked off streets with high water, including Market, South Commerce and Boone.
