CUMBERLAND, Ky (WATE) - An argument between a father and son led to one man being transported to the hospital Sunday afternoon, according to Kentucky State Police.

KSP was responding to reports of shots fired at a Boggs Hollow Road residence when they found Kevin Maggard, 20, with a gunshot wound to his foot.

Maggard was transported to Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital, and was later airlifted to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.

Authorities say his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Upon investigation, police charged Maggard's father, Victor Boggs, 55, with assault in the first degree and booked him into the Harlan County Detention Center.
