ALCOA (WATE) - Two teen girls were seriously injured Monday morning when their jetski crashed into a dock.

The 14-year-old girls crashed into the private dock on Ft. Loudon Lake near apartments on Wheeler Road in Blount County. Their names have not been released.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Officer Jeff Pearce says one of the girls may have been ejected from the jetski. She was found on shore when emergency responders arrived.

The other girl was found floating on the jetski in a nearby channel.

Blount County Fire Protection District firefighter Kermit Easterling had to swim to the boat to rescue her.

"The jetski was partially submerged. She was sitting on the back with her head laying down on the back of the jetski," Easterling said. "She was definitely disoriented, did not know where she was. She kept asking me if this was real or a dream."

Both suffered what authorities believe are serious but not life threatening injuries. The two were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

TWRA says the operator of the jetski had not taken a mandatory boating safety course, but both girls were wearing personal flotation devices.
