MARYVILLE (WATE) - Several Blount County residents were victims over the weekend of a counterfeiter.

Blount County investigators in the Criminal Investigation Division say a woman passed phony $20 bills at garage and yard sales in Maryville.

Residents on East Brown School Road, Jackson Hills Drive, and East Harper Avenue reported receiving the fake $20 bills.

The residents didn't notice the bills were counterfeit until after she was gone.

The woman has been described as white with brown hair with blonde tips. She weighs about 220 pounds and has tattoos on her chest and arms.

She was driving a white 2010 Nissan Maxima during her visits to the garage sales.
