Knoxville man arrested shortly after downtown bank robbery

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville man was arrested a short time after he allegedly held up a downtown Knoxville bank.

The FBI says the Clayton Bank, 620 Market Street, was robbed at about 2:00 p.m. by a man who said he had a weapon.

The man got an undetermined amount of cash and then fled on foot.

A short time later, Nicholas Wayne Sandlin, 62, was arrested.

Charges are pending.
