East Tennessee drive-in participates in Honda's Project Drive-In

ELIZABETHTON (WATE) - One of the last East Tennessee drive-ins may be forced to close.

Elizabethton's State Line Drive-In has been in operation for 66 years.

At the end of 2013, movie studios will stop distributing 35-millimeter film, which means the theater will need to switch their equipment to digital.

The upgrade costs more than $75,000. The expense is so great, the drive-in may have to shut down.

The drive-in's owner has entered in Honda's Project Drive-In. It's a contest where your votes will chose five theaters to receive state-of-the-art digital equipment for free.

You can vote once a day by texting VOTE48 to 444999 or by visiting Project Drive-In's web site.

Voting ends September 9.
