KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knox County corrections officer has been fired after being jailed on a DUI charge and three counts of theft.

The sheriff's office says Jason Williams, 40, was arrested at the Cotton Eyed Joe Friday night. He is accused of stealing a bag with two cell phones and car keys.

The victims say they found Williams with their items in the parking lot and their car had been relocated.

According to an incident report, Williams admitted to driving the victim's car, but he said he decided not to take it.

Witnesses say the victims got into a fight with Williams when they confronted him.

The arresting deputies say Williams was drunk. He is being held on a $17,000 bond.

According to the sheriff's office, Deputy Williams worked on two-way radios in the Radio Unit.
