MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WATE) - The robber of a Middlesboro gas station Sunday night may have had more help than just a getaway driver.

Middlesboro police say two employees at the gas station also helped pull off the robbery.

It started around 9:15 p.m. when a woman walked into the Circle K gas station, 1405 Cumberland Ave., with a knife and demanded money.

The robber fled with the help of a male driver.

About two hours later Sherrie D. Barnett, 46, and Carl W. Turner, 36, were arrested at a home on Pineville Pike.

Barnett is charged with first degree robbery. Turner is charged with complicity to commit first degree robbery.

Police say cash stolen from the gas station was recovered.

The investigation into the robbery didn't end there, however. A couple of hours later two employees who were working in the gas station when it was robbed were also arrested.

Lisa M. Smith, 36, and Michael R. Evans, 40, are charged with facilitation of first degree robbery.
