Plans for Lake City museum move forward

LAKE CITY (WATE) - A proposed Anderson County museum got the go ahead Monday evening.

The county commission approved a measure to buy the old Bank of America in Lake City for $100,000.

The building will be the site of the Coal Creek Miner's Museum.

The museum will also feature a welcome center for the area, including the Coal Creek Motor Discovery Trail and the motorcycle route, "The Devil's Triangle."

The museum is anticipated to open eight months after the building is purchased.
