JEFFERSON CITY (WATE) - Video has now been released capturing the violent confrontation between Jefferson City police officers and 51-year-old Tracy Daniel.

The incident occurred Monday morning on Martha Glass Drive. Police say Daniel rushed the officers while holding a knife, forcing the officers to shoot.

Daniel later died at an area hospital.

A bystander, who wishes to remain anonymous, captured the exchange using his cell phone.

The video is just over 7 minutes long. An agitated Daniel can be seen holding a knife, surrounded by police officers who have their guns drawn.

For several minutes, officers are shown trying to convince Daniel to drop the knife and surrender.

Daniel is seen refusing, and begins to walk back toward his residence.

An officer is seen firing several non-lethal bean bag rounds at Daniel. He can be heard reacting in pain, but still doesn't surrender.

Soon, another round of bean bags is discharged, then someone uses a stun gun. Still, Daniel refuses to drop the knife.

Then, Daniel charges the officers. Multiple rounds are fired, but these are live rounds and Daniel falls to the ground mortally wounded.

According to city officials, Detective Michael Stallings and Police Chief Kenneth Davis fired those rounds.

Both men are on paid administrative leave tonight while the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation conducts it's investigation, which is standard protocol.
