KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Reality competition TV show "American Idol" is holding auditions Friday in Knoxville's Krutch Park.

The show is embarking on its second bus tour of the nation, searching for the next superstar.

Auditions will be held Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those interested are asked not to camp in the park overnight.

"We are excited American Idol chose Knoxville for the 2013 Audition Bus Tour," said Kim Bumpas, president of Visit Knoxville.  "This is an incredible opportunity to showcase all the musical talent Knoxville and East Tennessee has to offer, as several past Idol contestants have come from our region.  We are excited to work with American Idol and the City of Knoxville to make this event happen."

The competition is open to hopeful singers ages 15 to 28 years old.  Those under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Two forms of ID are required.  One must be a photo ID.

Potential contestants must also complete a personal release form, which is available online.

Parking is available at the Civic  Coliseum for $5. People can then ride a free trolley to Krutch Park.
