KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Students graduated Thursday night at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology.

The ceremony was held at the Knoxville Convention Center. State Representative Harry Brooks delivered the commencement address to the 155 graduating students.

The school offers training in numerous careers like licensed practical nurse or machinist.

Students say the College of Applied Technology was the right fit for them and achieving the goal of graduation feels good. Charity Harmon, a graduate, said, "for me, I feel ready to step into a job through this program than I would have if I had gotten a four year degree at some university."

School officials say nearly all of their students remain in Knox County and the surrounding area after graduation to service their local communities.
