MARYVILLE (WATE) – A Blount County family is still searching for answers five years after their loved one disappear.

Mike Hearon of Happy Valley was last seen on his ATV in August 2008. His ATV was found abandoned a few miles away from his Bell Ranch Road home.

Hearon's family has continued to search for him after all this time. Matt Hearon has spent the last five years trying to figure out what happened to his dad.

"The uncertainty part is terrible. You can't ever have closure until obviously you find out what happened. And that's why we're doing everything we can to try to find something out," said Hearon.

There was little evidence and the Blount County Sheriff's Department says while the case is still open, they've had no new information. That's why the family holds a hike each year to raise awareness and keep his memory alive.
