KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A vigil was held Sunday night for a man shot to death last weekend at an apartment complex off of Pleasant Ridge Road.

Deputies say 23-year-old Ke Lonzo Deon'tez Pullens was trying to buy drugs from Joshua Berry, 18, when an argument broke out.

After a struggle for a gun, deputies tell 6 News Berry shot and killed Pullens.

"We were just trying to celebrate a life that's gone, that shouldn't be gone over such ignorance that's going on today," said organizer Jessica Wallace.

Berry, the accused shooter, is charged with second-degree murder. He's being held on a $500,000 bond.
