KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Louisville man was charged Tuesday with intentionally killing his neighbor's dog and stalking.

Fred Lee Wright, 62, is currently in the Blount County Detention Facility. Bond has not yet been set.

Blount County Sheriff James Berrong says deputies responded to a home on Cub Drive in Louisville shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The dog's owner, Diane Stephens, said as she was trying to leave for work, Wright stood in her driveway and refused to let her leave.

Stephens called 911, and Wright then allowed her to leave.

A deputy spoke with Wright on Stephen's property. He told deputies he was checking on some things on Stephens' property.

During a search of the property, the deputy found a small brown dog dead on the ground.

Wright then admitted to killing Stephens' dog. Wright was then taken into custody.

Stephens told the deputy she had ongoing issues with Wright.
