Hunter grabs TD, but Titans fall to Vikings 24-23

MINNEAPOLIS (WATE/AP) - Former Vol Justin Hunter scored his second touchdown of the preseason and starting quarterback Jake Locker saw some game action, but the Titans dropped their preseason finale at Minnesota 24-23.

Locker went 3 for 5 for 31 yards in a rare bit of action for a starting quarterback in the final preseason game.

Hoping to avoid a spot on the practice squad, quarterback Rusty Smith completed 13 of 21 passes for 178 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Marcus Sherels returned a kick 109 yards for a touchdown and intercepted a pass in a last-ditch effort to make the team for the Vikings, who lost offensive lineman Seth Olsen to a scary neck injury in the second quarter.

Hunter's touchdown, his second of the preseason, came in the 2nd quarter on a 17 yard pass from back-up quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

It put the Titans up 10-7.

Tennessee finished the preseason 1-3 and will open the regular season on Sept. 8 at Pittsburgh.
