KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Henley Bridge and James White Parkway projects have been capturing most of the headlines recently, but thanks to viewer emails, we know there are other projects causing concern for many of you.

Millertown Pike improvement project

Several people have inquired about ongoing or upcoming road projects in East Tennessee, one of which is the Millertown Pike improvement project.

The City of Knoxville says the project on schedule for the November completion date.

This project includes widening Millertown Pike to three lanes just behind Knoxville Center Mall, as well as the installation of a sidewalk and bridge improvements near Loves Creek.

Glenwood Avenue bridge replacement project

So far, no start date has been set for the bridge replacement project in North Knoxville along Glenwood Avenue near 6th Avenue.

The city says they are still awaiting the completion of utility relocation before the project can move forward.

New project areas next week

The Tennessee Department of Transportation is, of course, halting work for the Labor Day holiday weekend, but next Tuesday work begins on three new project areas. Each deals with a bridge or overpass.

Rolling roadblocks will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Hamblen County on Interstate 81 north and south near exit 8. Crews will be performing overhead bridge work.

Another bridge repair project in Knox County will affect traffic on I-640 east and west between Broadway and I-40 on the east end of town. Work will run from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.

Finally, lane closures will be in place in Loudon County along U.S. 321 underneath I-40 near exit 364. Crews will be working underneath the overpass. The lane closures will be in effect during the daylight hours.
