Sevierville man dies in early morning crash

SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - A Sevierville man is dead after crashing early Sunday morning, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Officials say that 25-year-old Brandon Petit was driving on Whites School Road just before 4 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to spin out.

The car then traveled some 20 feet down an embankment before rolling over into a creek bed.

Petit was killed in the crash. Two passengers, James Gregg and Jacob Lyons, were uninjured.

Officials say Petit was speeding at the time of the crash and was not wearing a seat belt.
