Deputy fatally shoots Gray, Ky. man

CORBIN, Ky. (WATE) - A man is dead and a sheriff's deputy injured after a confrontation Monday night in Knox County, Ky.

Deputy Brian Hensley was sent to a home in the Gray Community late Monday night on the report of a domestic disturbance.

The Kentucky State Police says when Deputy Hensley arrived he heard a gunshot. The deputy entered the home and was struck in the leg by a gunshot fired by Jeffrey Frump, 44.

After retreating to the porch, the deputy returned fire and killed Frump.

State troopers say Hensley's injuries are not life threatening.

Frump's body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
