Public Building Authority to take over Gay Street parking enforcement


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Public Building Authority will take over parking enforcement in .  

The City of Knoxville is contracting with PBA to enforce parking rules on the section of Gay Street between Summit Hill Drive and Hill Avenue.

Free parking is available on Gay Street, but it's limited to two hours and only from 6 a.m. to midnight.

The city says the contract will ensure consistent enforcement and encourage turnover of parking spaces.

PBA takes over enforcement on September 15. Warnings will be issued for the first two weeks.
