Free prostate screenings offered in Knoxville and Morristown

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The University of Tennessee Medical Center is offering free prostate screenings during the month of September.

The screenings are available in Knoxville and Morristown.

Men between the ages of 50-70 are urged to participate. African American men and those with a family history of prostate cancer can be screened at an earlier age.

The free screenings are available:

  • Saturday, September 7 at UT Internal Medicine Hardin Valley, 2587 Willow Point Way - 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m.
  • Tuesday, September 17 at UT Medical Center Cancer Institute, 1926 Alcoa Hwy., Building F - 1-4 p.m.
  • Friday, September 20 at UT Medical Center Cancer Institute, 1926 Alcoa Hwy., Building F - 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 26 at Urology & Urologic Surgery, 1437 West Morris Blvd., Morristown - 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

The free screenings include a digital rectal exam and a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test.
