KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A portion of an abandoned house in an upscale Knoxville neighborhood collapsed Wednesday afternoon.

Knoxville fire officials say the collapse at 515 Scenic Dr. near Kingston Pike in Sequoyah Hills was reported at 4:15 p.m.

Firefighters say the house was abandoned and no one was found inside.

The owner of the home died several years ago and it has been in a probate dispute since then.

The structure was condemned nearly two years ago.

Neighbors say vagrants sometimes were seen there.

Firefighters secured the structure and contacted Codes Enforcement officers.

The city has filed an emergency order to gain possession of the property.
