A car carrier truck caught fire early Thursday morning on Interstate 24 in Montgomery County.
The incident was reported at 5:30 a.m. near mile marker 15, not far from State Route 76.
Westbound roadways were closed for almost three hours as crews cleared the scene. The interstate was reopened around 8 a.m.
The driver told News 2 that one of his tires blew, causing the back of his trailer to catch fire.
The last four cars were in flames until he pulled over and used a fire extinguisher to put out as much of the fire as he could while he waited for authorities.
The driver was not injured during the incident.
No further information was released.
