Oak Ridge police arrest two for string of burglaries

OAK RIDGE (WATE) - Two men are being held on charges related to a series of break-ins over the last two weeks in an Oak Ridge neighborhood.

Chase Davis, 19, and Bryson Higgins, 18, were arrested early Thursday after a search of their Tara Hills apartment.

Oak Ridge police say a substantial amount of stolen property recovered in the search appears to be connected to several burglaries in the last two weeks.

Sporting equipment, electronic equipment, and women's accessories were some of the items recovered.

Many of the thefts and burglaries took place in cars and homes in the Briarcliff neighborhood, which is a few blocks away from the Tara Hills apartment complex.

Police say the investigation that lead to the arrests started from a tip about a stolen handgun taken from a vehicle in Knoxville.

Residents who believe they may be victims in the string of thefts and burglaries or have information about them may contact the Oak Ridge Police Department at (865) 425-3511.
