KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Pilot founder and chairman Jim Haslam has issued a question-and-answer statement on his company's website.

During the Q-and-A session, Haslam says the allegations of rebate fraud prompted him to come out of semi-retirement, visiting 50 stores in 10 states.

When asked what his first reaction was when he learned of the FBI raid, Haslam said he had many question, "What happened, why did it happen and how do we get the company back together?"

Federal investigators continue to look into claims that pilot cheated customers out of rebates on large diesel fuel purchases.

Seven workers have pleaded guilty to charges, including conspiracy and fraud, since the April raid on Pilot's headquarters in Knoxville.
