Jones: Maggitt is game time decision

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Injured Tennessee linebacker Curt Maggitt will suit-up for Saturday's game against Western Kentucky, but head coach Butch Jones says a decision on whether Maggitt will play won't come until game time.

Jones made his comments on his weekly radio appearance on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville.

Maggitt has been sidelined since last November after he suffered a torn knee ligament in the game against Missouri.

The 2011 SEC All-Freshman Team selection had 30 tackles for Tennessee last year.

He led the team with five tackles for a loss and had two sacks.

Maggitt's work in practice this week received positive reviews from Tennessee's coaching staff.

"Curt brings a different type of energy," said linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen.

"He went in (Tuesday) and got his first real contact. He actually kind of surprised everybody in taking on some linemen. Kids on our team really respect Curt," added Thigpen.
