1 killed in crash involving Sheriff's deputy in Dickson County

DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. -

One person has died following a head-on collision involving a sheriff's deputy in Dickson County Friday night.

The accident was reported at Highway 46 and Barbeque Road around 7:45 p.m.

Witnesses reported Deputy Ronald Tilley was traveling southbound on the roadway with his emergency lights on when 90-year-old Clyde Faling attempted to turn onto Barbeque Road, striking the deputy's vehicle.

Deupty Tilley and 30-year-old passenger Sarah McCartney were taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Faling was airlifted to Vanderbilt. He later died from his injuries.

Tilley and McCartney's conditions were not immediately known.
