KNOXVILLE (WATE) - At least one person was shot on the UT strip early Saturday morning, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

Officials with KPD say officers were on patrol on Cumberland Avenue when they heard gunshots coming from the parking lot behind Stefano's Pizza just before 3 a.m.

Officers say that upon their arrival at least one person fled on foot, while Underwood Miles, 39, was arrested.

Miles was charged with felony reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm while committing a dangerous felony, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A Chevrolet Suburban was stopped a short distance away on White Avenue at James Agee St. after police say it fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

Police say several people from the shooting scene as well as the occupants of the Suburban were transported to the police department to be interviewed by investigators.

Evidence of the shooting was found in the paring lot.

A short time later, police say gunshot victim G'Juan Williams, 27, arrived at UT Medical Center.

His condition is unknown at this time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Knoxville Police Department at  (865) 215-7212.
