Season over for Smokies after 7-4 playoff loss

KODAK, Tenn. (WATE) - A string of errors led to a disastrous inning and a 7-4 loss as the Tennessee Smokies saw their 2013 season come to an end against the Birmingham Barons on Monday night at Smokies Park.

Birmingham won the North Division playoff series 3-2 and will advance to the Southern League Championship Series.

A costly, four-error inning broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth with the Barons plating four runs.

Javier Baez crushed a mammoth two-run home run to bring the Smokies back, but the offense could not get anything else started for a comeback.
