KNOXVILLE (WATE) - New development is planned at a currently vacant lot in West Knoxville which was sold for more than $8 million.

A group linked to Home Properties recently purchased a 24-acre site near the intersection of Kingston Pike and Cedar Bluff Road.

Michael Patterson, director of development for Home Properties, says several restaurants are planned for the site including Zaxby's, Bojangles' and Carolina Ale House.

A free-standing CVS Pharmacy and an as-of-yet unnamed grocery store are also planned.

The group hopes to break ground within the next two weeks.
