KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Free online tutoring is now available to all Knox County students. TutorTN was launched Friday, funded by the state Department of Education and library system.

Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett, Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman, and other officials announced the new service at an event Friday.

The service is available to any Knox County student who has a Knox County library card. 2,200 tutors are available from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening in all academic subjects, all the way through college level.

Officials say Knox County was chosen as a pilot program and they hope to expand the service statewide.

Tennessee is the seventh state offering the service.
