Smyrna police believe a man who stole undergarments from a woman's home on Saturday targeted another woman Monday.
The first crime occurred at a home on Burntwood Drive in the Vineyards subdivision around 10:45 p.m.
Police said the man also stole a picture of the 18-year-old victim, who is a former Miss La Vergne, and took some of her other personal belongings.
No one was home at the time but the man was captured on home surveillance cameras.
Police said after his photo was released to the media, they were notified about another, similar crime in La Vergne.
That crime happened at a home about a half mile away from the first.
Police said a witness saw the man leaving the home with a "whole box" full of undergarments.
Nashville's News 2 spoke with nearby residents who said the recent thefts are concerning.
"[I'm] scared, really scared. My daughter rides her bike up the street and now I don't want her to. I want her to stay at home," resident Andreaa Kraft said.
Taneshia Petty added, "Nobody is safe, not even in your own house and that's bad that you can't be safe."
The suspect in both crimes is described as a white man in his 30s. He is balding with some facial hair.
Police said they have made contact with the man they believe is the main suspect in the case.
He will likely be charged with aggravated burglary, but additional charges could be possible.
