Keathley University Center reopens at MTSU after threat

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

The Keathley University Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro was evacuated Wednesday afternoon following a threat.

Students, faculty and staff members were alerted via text message at 2:07 p.m.

After the building was evacuated, MTSU police and Rutherford County officials conducted a sweep of the building.

The all-clear was given around 4 p.m. and the KUC reopened.

Murfreesboro police said Thursday morning the threat targeted one person but gave a specific time and place a bomb would be detonated.

No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
