NEWPORT (WATE) - Residents in Cocke County paid tribute Thursday night to a volunteer firefighter who was killed in a crash earlier this week.

Clayton Ball, 33, died Monday morning in a crash on Interstate 40 in Cocke County. Ball was a passenger in a wrecker truck that was pulling a load of pallets. The tow truck was re-ended by another vehicle.

Ball was also a volunteer firefighter with the Cosby Fire Department.

Around 100 people attended Ball's funeral procession in Newport Thursday night. Area firefighter rode along in their fire trucks.
