KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A number of road projects are on the schedule for the Knoxville area,which may bring traffic delays.

Drivers should be on the lookout for possible lane closures Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. on Strawberry Plains Pike at Brakebill Road. The intersection is just north of I-40.

Tennessee Department of Transportation officials say this is an intersection improvement project.

Crews will be installing an additional turn lane from Strawberry Plains Pike to Brakebill. The project is set to last through 6 a.m. Monday, weather permitting.

TDOT warns of possible lane closures that could slow traffic in the area.

A number of other projects begin on Monday.

In Knox County, more overnight milling and paving is planned along I-40.

Crews will be smoothing out the rough spots between Rutledge Pike and Lovell Road Monday through Thursday next week beginning at 6 p.m. each day.

In Loudon County, phase two of a bridge repair project will result in lane closures on east and westbound I-40 near exit 364. The closures will be in place through Thursday, Sept. 26.
