Oak Ridge multi-vehicle wreck leaves one dead

OAK RIDGE (WATE) - One person has died after a car and two motorcycles crashed Sunday in Oak Ridge.

The accident happened around 5:00 p.m. on Highway 95 near Bethel Valley Road.

Oak Ridge police officers say the incident started with a crash between a vehicle driven by Patricia Scofield, 57, of Louisville, and a motorcycle driven by Jeffrey Floyd, 23, of Clinton. Floyd was killed.

Motorcyclist Gregory Bergen, 30, of Caryville, was also injured in the crash. He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center by ambulance.

Both Scofield's vehicle and Bergen's motorcycle were almost fully engulfed in flames when officers arrived on scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
