DANDRIDGE (WATE) - The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified seven of the eight people killed and fourteen people injured in Wednesday's church bus accident on I-40 in Jefferson County.

Investigators say the bus carrying members of Front Street Baptist Church in Statesville, N.C. was traveling eastbound when its front left tire popped. The bus went through a median barricade before slamming into a tractor trailer and an SUV pulling a boat trailer that were traveling westbound.

  • Brenda Smith, 69, of Statesville, N.C.
  • Marsha Mclelland, 62, of Statesville, N.C. (wife of injured Ed Mclelland)
  • Barbara Morrison, 66, of Statesville, N.C. (wife of Randy Morrison)
  • Randy Morrison (Driver), 66, of Statesville, N.C. (husband of Barbara Morrison)
  • John Wright, 73, of Mocksville, N.C.
