Annual Parade of Homes begins this weekend

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The annual Parade of Homes event will take place three weekends in October: Oct. 4-6, Oct. 11-13 and Oct. 18-20. Potential buyers can take tours of 39 area homes for sale as well as see new trends in construction.

The event is free and homes in the parade range from $140,000 to $2 million.

The homes are not just in Knox County. The parade also includes houses in Anderson, Blount and Loudon counties.

There's good news for potential home buyers. The average interest rate for loans fell putting the most popular loan, a 30 year fixed, at 4.22 percent.

Rates have been dropping since last month's announcement from the Federal Reserve that the agency wouldn't alter its program, but with lower rates you have to choose a place to live.

The chairman of the Parade of Homes told 6 News that he feels the event has been very successful in the last few years and that all of the houses in past parades have sold.
