KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Saturday's UT-Georgia game had many fans on the edge of their seats, as the Vols nearly defeated the bulldogs after trailing most of the game. But Georgia pulled through beating the Vols 34-31 in overtime.

Many Vol fans say the game's result was heartbreaking. A defeat over Georgia would have been a victory of historic proportions, but it all changed with one fumble in overtime.

"We would rather them lost by 20 points than to lose by just a field goal," said Erin Norton, a Knoxville resident.

Saturday's game was for many a rollercoaster of emotions, as fans we're hoping for the first big win of the season.

"As a Vol fan, we are set up for disappointment, we love this team, we love Knoxville, but at the end of the day, it takes a play like overtime where he fumbled it in the end zone to rip your heart out," said Don Mills, a Knoxville resident.

Tim Fox and his brother Matt traveled from Colorado to attend this game.

The brothers are not Vol fans, they say still were impressed with the team's potential.

"They put up a great fight and I think they have a great future for the rest of the season," said Matt Fox.

Vol fans will have an extra week to think about this loss. The team returns to action on Oct 19 when South Carolina comes to Neyland Stadium.
