The federal government shutdown could soon affect business for America's craft brewers.
Locally, Blackstone Restaurant and Brewery and others, will still offer beer, but the agency that approves new breweries, recipes and labels has shut down which could cause huge delays in the rapidly growing craft industry.
According to the Associated Press, the agency will continue to process taxes from existing permit holders, but applications from anything new are in limbo.
People Nashville's News 2 spoke with Wednesday say their frustration with government is growing.
"It is coming to a point that this is not the way it should be settled. Having a government shut down isn't the way it should have been handled," Nashville resident Gerry Hunter said.
Local resident John Butler added, "I don't know that we're going to feel it so much in Nashville that quick, but it's going to take its toll over time and it's kind of making us a laughing stock over seas which it not too exciting."
Currently the TTB takes about 75 days to act and process an application, though that wait could become longer.
Wednesday marked the ninth day of the government shutdown.
