Carson-Newman plans for body farm fall apart

JEFFERSON CITY (WATE) – Plans for Carson-Newman University's body farm are dead, for now.

The seven acre site located in New Market faced opposition, but was later approved.

Carson-Newman officials says the faculty member who would have run the Masters in Environmental Forensics program has left for another job. Instead, a new Master's of Science in Environmental Studies will be offered.

Carson-Newman leaders say they're still open to using the cadaver site at some point if the body farm organization can find funding for the facility. But at this time, they do not have a formal agreement.
