The lockdown was initiated at Kirkland Hall off of West End Avenue around 8:15 a.m.

Vanderbilt police searched the building for other possible threats but nothing was found.

The lockdown was lifted about an hour later, around 9:20 a.m.

The building is now open.

The envelope, its contents and where it came from is being investigated.
