RUSSELLVILLE (WATE) - The Hamblen County Sheriff's Office says a 13-year-old boy stabbed a man to death in an effort to protect his two aunts who were being assaulted.

Deputies say they were called to a home in Russellville Monday night around 8:45 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered Giorgio Armani Kyle had been stabbed in the abdomen by a 13-year-old boy.

Officials say Kyle was assaulting the teen's two aunts at the time of the stabbing.

Statements taken at the scene indicate Kyle went to the home to confront his girlfriend Kelsey Jackson. Jackson says Kyle struck her during the argument and had also assaulted her on previous occasions.

Jomisha Dailey said she went to check on her sister and was pushed by Kyle. Jackson and Dailey's mother Karen Dailey said she asked Kyle to leave, but did not witness the stabbing.

Kyle was taken to UT Medical Center where he underwent surgery, but ultimately died of his injuries.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and following leads.
